It is designed to provide students with the essential knowledge necessary to help reduce or eliminate the occupational risk of bloodborne pathogens. The training program teaches the information every employee who has occupational exposure needs to know to avoid accidental exposure to potentially infectious materials and to manage an accidental exposure if one occurs.
Also included are optional supplemental materials such as FAQs about the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Bloodborne Standard, a list of resources available on the Web, and a model Exposure Control Plan.
This stand-alone training program is intended to help meet OSHA training regulations in regard to bloodborne pathogens and complements nicely with any existing bloodborne compliance program.
Like other MEDIC FIRST AID Version 6.0 training programs, the Bloodborne Pathogens in the Workplace program features a smaller, lighter Student Guide with full-color pictures and images throughout. The Student Guide integrates with the program video and instructor materials to provide an effective, easy-to-use system for training.
