MEDIC FIRST AID Receives 2005 Film Awards
May 22, 2006

MEDIC FIRST AID has won prestigious Aurora Awards for two of its videos produced in 2005.

Specific First Aid Topics: Exposure to Heat took home the ultimate award for its category—Platinum Best of Show.  One of the judges commented that Exposure to Heat had great content and was well organized.  The Platinum award is given to the top ten percent of entrants in a category.

Exposure to Heat details the three main problems associated with excessive exposure to heat: heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke. It also includes helpful recommendations on how to prevent the occurrence of heat-related illness.

MEDIC FIRST AID also won a Gold award for Specific First Aid Topics: Responding to Eye Injuries. The Gold Award is given to the top twenty percent of a category’s entrants.

Responding to Eye Injuries provides information on how to recognize and care for an individual who has sustained an injury to the eye.  Early recognition and proper treatment of these injuries can make a positive impact on the outcome.

MEDIC FIRST AID is not new to receiving accolades for its videos, however.  In 2004, MEDIC FIRST AID won awards for HeartStart Home Defibrillator Training, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Simulation, Specific First Aid Topics: Responding to Stroke, and Specific First Aid Topics: Responding to Bites and Stings.
