End-of-Year Notes
Dec 18, 2003
Conference 2003 in Portland, Oregon proved to be informative and enjoyable for everyone in attendance. Besides seeing old friends and making new ones, several initiatives were announced at the conference, including the MEDIC FIRST AID Training Center recognition program, which already has over 50 member organizations.

As well, several new and enhanced training programs made their way into trainer curriculums in 2003, including CarePlus CPR™, Advanced First Aid Supplement, Spanish language versions of Pediatric and Basic, a revised BLSPRO™, Emergency Care, Two-Rescuer CPR, and Pediatric AED PADS. 2003 also marked the debut of the MEDIC Health & Safety video programs. This flexible workplace safety and health training series covers a wide range of topics, from HAZCOM to Powered Industrial Truck Safety.

Looking forward to 2004, some of you had a chance to see a preview of the Specific First Aid Topics video series at the conference. Each video in the series expands on specific injuries and illnesses, featuring real-time scenarios, important topic information not covered in any print programs, and detailed evaluation and treatment guidelines. Finally, look for big things online from MEDIC FIRST AID, beginning with the start of MEDIC University classes in early 2004, and continuing with the redesign of the company Web site for a more efficient and comfortable Internet experience.

Spanish Wall Certificate
The quantity of Spanish materials MEDIC FIRST AID sells comprises a fraction of the total number of packs sold. This made the cost to print Spanish Wall Certificates prohibitive, and likely would have resulted in an increased cost for these materials.

The solution? Creating a printable, digital version of the certificate. You can find the certificate at the MEDIC FIRST AID Web site, in the Facilitator Support section. Once you've logged in, visit the Training Support area, and click on the Primeros Auxilios Basicos de MEDIC FIRST AID, V5.0 link. The certificate is available in Adobe PDF format. The MEDIC FIRST AID Basic and Pediatric Spanish packs will continue to include an English wall certificate.
